Mosquito invasion to hit Calgary

They’re biting us when we’re down.
An historic number of mosquitoes will be infesting Calgary around ten days from now, as perfect breeding weather and stagnant water allow them to hatch.
The Calgary Sun reports it could be one of the worst seasons for mosquitoes in Calgary history.
John Swann from the University of Calgary says while the water has washed a few of the pests away, millions more summer mosquitoes are waiting to hatch.
And unfortunately, flood clean-up has pushed the city’s pest management to the backburner.
