Father’s sentence for slashing baby son upheld

A five year sentence has been upheld for a Calgary dad who slashed his infant son in the stomach and throat to get back at the child’s mother.

The decision was made by the Alberta Court of Appeal Monday.

The Calgary Sun reports the father, who can’t be named, barely missed cutting a major artery and the injuries could have been fatal.

In one of the calls to 911, the 33-year-old man reportedly said the child was almost dead and he wanted him to die.
