The Department of National Defence is out with a warning if you find explosive devices around your property.
This comes after two military explosives were found in Weaselhead Park in early July.
Ian Lau with the unexploded explosive ordinance program (UXO) tells 660News there is no safe explosive device.
“Any piece of munition that has explosives in it has the potential to explode and cause harm. Generally a member of the public does not have the expertise to tell if munitions are safe to move or not, always assume munition is hazardous,” says Lau.
He says the military is called to Calgary around once or twice a year to have a look at a possibly explosive device.
Anyone who finds an explosive device should call 911 immediately and never touch it.
