Woman rescued from Bow River

Another scary reminder of the power of the river, a woman in her 20’s was floating down the Bow Saturday afternoon shortly after 4 o’clock when her raft flipped.
She later stated that she was so cold, she could barely hang on to a submerged tree and was thankful that the aquatic team arrived to help.
The woman also said that if it wasn’t for her personal floatation device she may have drowned. She was assessed by EMS and later released.
The ban on the Bow River has been lifted, however, the Elbow River still remains closed.
The City is encouraging people to act responsibly when participating in any water-related activities.
