Two climbers rescued over the weekend in Banff

Members of the Banff Visitor Safety Team had a busy Sunday completing the rescue of two climbers over an eight hour period.
It began Sunday around noon at Tunnel Mountain, after a 26-year-old Calgary man fell fifteen metres after losing his footing.
Banff National Park specialist Lisa Paulson says there was a quick response because their pilot was in the area at the time.
“They climbed up to the patient anchor station, above the patient and we were able to package him in some spinal immobilization equipment,” she says.
He was taken to the Banff hospital and later transferred to Calgary with spinal injuries.
Later that evening, a 25- year-old Edmonton man slipped on a rock face behind Lake Louise and dislocated his knee.
It took crews 40 minutes to land and hike to his location; he’s being treated at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.
