Displaced High River residents move into temporary housing complex

Hundreds of people who lost their homes in recent flooding south of Calgary have someplace else to call home for the next several months.
The province is opening up what’s being called the community of Saddlebrook, which is a maze of trailers resurrected 10 kilometres north of High River.
Rick Fraser, Associate Minister of Regional Recovery Reconstruction, says they have tried to think of everything they could to make the complex feel like a neighbourhood.
The community has three dining areas, lounging areas complete with big screen televisions, green spaces and places where children can play.
Eventually 1,200 people will move into the complex, while they wait for their homes to be rebuilt.
A second, but much smaller, temporary housing complex is also in the works in Calgary.
No word yet on how much residents will be paying for the new roof over their head, with the province picking up the cost of their first 90 days of operation.
