Sex offender deported from Calgary

The Canadian Border Services Agency has deported a 36 year old Calgary resident for what the agency describes as serious criminality.
Louay Khalil was ordered deported from Canada in February, 2011 following two sexual assault convictions.
CBSA spokesperson Lisa White tells 660News, even though he had received a suspended sentence, Khalil was not in the community while the CBSA was making the arrangements.
“He was detailed until his deportation on July 17th, and was ordered detained in our custody because he was deemed to be a danger to the public,” explains White.
White says between 250 and 300 people are deported from Calgary every year but only a third of them are ordered out because of criminal activity.
