Harvie Passage drastically altered by floods

A dangerous stretch of the Bow River has become even more treacherous after the floods.
A spokesperson for the Calgary Fire Department said, the channels in the Harvie Passage have been significantly altered, making the area tough to navigate even for experienced paddlers.
Batallion Chief John Cherweniuk tells the Calgary Herald, the fire department knew what the hazards were when it came to the old weir, but the new layout is a whole new ballgame.
Sean Allen, who works at the paddling store Aquabatics, said although the water is still navigable, rafters have to be extremely cautious and aware of how much the passage has changed.
