Parents get into back to school mode

There are 22 days of summer holidays left for kids at Calgary’s public school board, so when does the back to school rush start at city stores?
Store shelves have been stocked for a couple of weeks and the back to school ads have been popping up all over the place and while it may seem to soon, some parents disagree.
Shopper and mother Michelle said it’s like removing a band-aid: do it quick and move on.
“I don’t like to procrastinate and then have the staff is picked already,” she said. “I’m already done.”
Helpful study tips and links to info on bullying are also available to parents, thanks to one back to school toolkit.
The Alberta government has compiled a website to provide students, parents and teachers with the guidance they require.
Alberta Education Spokesperson Camille Weleschuk said response is always great to this educational tool.
“This is something that we have offered in previous school years and have heard really great feedback, that it just really helps prepare and get everyone back to back to school mode,” she said.
Students can also learn ways to develop their leadership skills and participate in unique educational opportunities through a site called Speak Out.
