Globalfest kicks off

Globalfest will begin lighting up Calgary’s sky Friday night.
It’s the 11th year for Alberta’s Most Explosive Festival, and the five day international firework show kicks off with a pyromusical display from China!
Event spokesperson Chris Erickson says there are also a few new surprises in this year’s festival.
“One’s France, who has actually never been to Globalfest before; we’re really excited to see what they have to bring to the table,” he says. “We also have Great Britain, who have been here in the past but it’s been quite a number of years.”
In addition to the spectacular light displays, ticket holders can head to Elliston Park to check out three performance stages, 13 food booths and a children’s village with kid-friendly entertainment.
