Stolen fire truck found damaged

After a morning hunt, Calgary police have recovered a stolen fire truck.
Friday night, someone took off with a pickup from the Calgary Fire Department station at 19th St. and 18th Ave. N.E.
Just before 10:00 a.m. Saturday, the truck was found three blocks from where it was taken.
Duty Inspector Guy Baker said because of media coverage, multiple people yelled at the thief, causing the individual to abandon the vehicle.
“We had sightings of him in the downtown core, and all throughout Forest Lawn, last night,” Baker said.
The Ford extended cab pickup with Fire Dept. markings is damaged.
An investigation is underway.
