Northwest commuters who use Crowchild Trail can expect a change Monday morning.
The City will be restricting left-hand turns, from northbound Crowchild onto 24th Ave. N.W. towards the university.
It’s a new three-month pilot project, which will go into effect weekdays from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. during the morning rush.
Restricting the left-hand turns is intended to improve southbound traffic flow, by giving commuters a longer green light.
While the signal changes may be only temporary, the City is adding a permanent dual turning lane from eastbound 24th Ave. to northbound Crowchild Trail.
Construction on that project is expected to be complete by early fall.
