Two months after flood destruction at Cougar Creek, the Town of Canmore is trying to come up with long-term solutions to prevent future damage.
June’s flood was the second time in two years the creek breached its banks.
According to The Calgary Herald, the town is asking for $7-million from a $20-million provincial erosion fund to cover damage that won’t be under the Disaster Recovery Program.
As many as 19 homes in Canmore are still unoccupied because of foundational damage.
