U of C mulls over program cuts

The University of Calgary is looking to put 19 programs on the chopping block.
Among the programs getting the boot are classical and early Christian studies, music history and literature, and leisure, tourism and society.
Seven programs would be cut in the faculty of science, including applied physics and computer science.
Officials say the programs have all had little or no students enrolled in recent years.
The Calgary Herald reports changes would affect only five students and would take affect by September 2014.
