Alberta’s climate will turn hotter, drier in the next 100 years

A hotter and drier climate is in the future for Albertans.

A new report by the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute predicts as climate change kicks in, the province’s ecological regions will shift north.

The Calgary Herald reports Alberta’s average temperature will rise by two to four degrees by the end of this century.

The slow and gradual changes will eventually see the southern parts of the province look more like Wyoming or Idaho.

Most lakes in the Grassland and Parkland areas will also eventually dry up.
