RCMP kept busy on AB highways over Labour Day weekend

Two people are dead after numerous crashes on Alberta’s highways over the long weekend.

The first incident happened west of Hinton; Mounties say a small car was travelling on Highway 16 Sunday night near Folding Mountain campground when it struck a moose.

A 57-year-old B.C. man was killed and another woman was injured.

Police were called to another fatal crash around 8 p.m. Monday near Hay Lakes, involving a car and a truck.

The female driver of the car was pronounced dead on scene.
