Look closely when using reward programs for winter travel

The summer is fading and maybe you’re thinking of a trip to escape winter’s woes.

Andrew Clarke with Capital One tells 660News, there are some things you should look for from your credit card company.

He says, “Before they book, they should find out if their current rewards program has any hidden fees, for example, some programs don’t allow you to use your points to pay the taxes. Consumers should be flexible when booking; many reward points programs have seat restrictions making popular destinations really hard to book.”

Clarke adds people should make sure their reward points don’t expire, but most importantly, do your research.
