Women Talk

The first ever Women Talk goes in Calgary later this month and organizers hope the idea will spread across the country.

The innovative new fundraiser showcases women sharing their motivational stories to help inspire others.

Brigitte Lessard, a Calgary businesswoman and founder of Sportsbras.ca, tells 660News the idea behind the event is Ted Talk, an internet phenomenon.

“You have these most brilliant people from all around the world that do these talks and they have to be 20 minutes or less.  So with our Women Talk, we’re doing 15 minutes or less,” says Lessard.

This inaugural evening will feature Global TV anchor, reporter and personal trainer, Cara Fullerton as the Keynote Speaker, sharing her passion for living a healthy lifestyle.

Other presenters include police officer Lynn McDonald (Personal Safety Training), Rica Shae (Burlesque Performer),  Lisa Simone (Recovery Advocate), Jane Crowshaw (Business Coach) and  Karen Turner (Efficiency Coach).

The emcee for the evening is long-time Calgary radio and TV host, Sue Deyell.

All the funds raised from ticket sales go to the YWCA.

Women Talk will be held Thursday night, October 24th at Cardel Theatre, 180 Quarry Park Blvd SE.
