Calgary police are investigating a suspected Thanksgiving-Day domestic homicide.
A woman’s body was found in a home on Ranchridge Drive NW at around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Police say they arrested a male at the home without incident, and he’s currently being interviewed by investigators.
Charges have not yet been laid.
Homicide detectives are working to confirm the identity of the victim so they can notify her next of kin.
They’re also determining her connection to the person in custody.
An autopsy will need to be completed before the woman’s name is released.
Calgary EMS says paramedics were also called to the scene in Ranchlands, but the elderly woman was already dead.
