Snowy weather hits Southern Alberta

Alberta got its first glimpse of some wild winter weather on the roads on Sunday.

4.4 centimetres of snow fell in Calgary, with places outside the city getting even more.

Cochrane recieved up to 15 cm, Nordegg and Sundre up to 14 cm, and around 20 cm fell in Kananaskis.

Combined with high winds, it made for some tricky navigation behind the wheel and also kept emergency crews busy.

Police say they responded to 152 crashes from midnight to 11p.m. Sunday; with 22 people suffering injuries.
