Tourism Calgary welcomes delegates to Conservative policy convention

It doesn’t matter whether you agree with their politics or not, this weekend’s gathering of 3,000 Tories at the BMO centre is good for the city.

The Interim CEO of Tourism Calgary tells 660News, they met hundreds of delegates at the airport, presenting them with white hats upon their arrival.

Cindy Ady says delegates have booked 5200 hotel room nights and are expected to pump $1.7 Million into the local economy.

Ady says they are very happy to welcome the Prime Minister and other Conservatives to town after their policy convention was re-scheduled following June’s historic flood.

She says even those who have come to town to protest are welcome , hoping they will return another day and bring their family with them.
