The new movie ‘Wolf Cop’ has begun shooting in Saskatchewan.
It’s the first film for the CineCoup Film Accelerator, using social media to help drum up support to get Canadian movies made faster and for a lot less.
The film is billed as ‘Dirty Harry… only hairier.’
Director Lowell Dean, who came up with the movie and won out over many others in the CineCoup competition, tells 660News the financial constraints mean they have a whole lot less time to get it shot.
“We have a lot of crazy werewolf stuff to cram in and effects don’t happen quickly. For example, every time our werewolf transforms it’s at least for or five shots. Each shot takes an hour,” says Dean.
“We’re fighting an uphill battle to make it a really crazy, entertaining movie.”
The movie is filming around Dean’s hometown of Regina and near Moose Jaw, as well.
Wolf Cop is expected to be released in April.
