Second man charged in 2012 Braeside murder

A second man has now been arrested in relation to the death of Graham Mark Sear.

The 28-year old was found dead on June 8, 2012 in a Toyota 4-Runner in behind the Braeside Shopping Centre on Southland Drive S.W.

After being found Thursday in an Evergreen home, 32-year-old Glen John MacIssac was charged with first degree murder.

Earlier this year, his friend Christopher Brian Richards was arrested on similar charges.

Staff Sgt. Grant Miller says in charging both men with first degree murder, investigators believe there was some level of planning and forethought.

They are working on the premise that the incident was drug related.

“We believe this was a drug deal of some kind, or a drug transaction. They obviously knew each other, from that circle, but to what extent, to what their actual relationship is, we’re not sure at this time,” he says.

Police are hoping witnesses can fill in some of the blanks.

Miller credits a K-9 track they did that evening which led them to the recovery of some evidence.

“We knew that there were others that were still involved, and our investigators continued on to determine who the others would be, and that culminated with the arrest of MacIssac,” he says.

He still can’t say how Sear died.

Police say there were several witnesses at the leisure centre across the street who noticed the altercation; anyone who might have seen something is being asked to come forward.

MacIsaac’s first court appearance will be November 12th, while Richards returns to court in September of next year.
