Flaherty projects $3.7B surplus in 2015

Finance Minister Jim Flaherty’s latest fiscal projections show a surplus of $3.7-billion in fiscal year 2015-16. It’s almost $3-billion more than predicted in the March budget.

The government expects the deficit in the current fiscal year to be $17.9-billion, which is $1-billion below the budgeted number.
