Blaze rips through home in Penbrooke

A home on Pensacola Way in the southeast was heavily damaged by a late night fire.

The original call for help came at 11:30 p.m.

Crews were en route when they spotted thick black smoke coming from the structure, and called a second alarm.

Batallion Chief Ernie Molineaux told 660News, crews quickly knocked down the fire, but the home could be a write off.

“The damage was basically confined to the lower level, but it was heavily damaged. The joist up on the main florr level was almost burned through. So it was heavily damaged,” Molineaux explained.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
