A group of children and their families will go on a trip of a lifetime Tuesday.

100 sick kids will board a plane this morning and head for the north pole in search of Santa.

In past years, the flights have taken off from Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver — but this is the first such flight out of Calgary.

Santa is also rumoured to be making a stop on the plane at some point during the flight.
