Man slashed in face with broken bottle in downtown Calgary

City police are on the hunt for a man and a woman after a downtown slashing incident Friday night around 9 o’clock.

“(At) 17th Avenue and 12th Street Southwest,” Duty Inspector Mike Watterston tells 660News, “there’s a Wendy’s restaurant at that location.  We had a male victim who was approached by a male and female.”  (They) asked if he had a smoke that he could give them.  He said no and the female took a broken bottle and slashed the male victim twice in the face.  He received serious injuries, but (is) stable, (and) was transported to hospital.”

So far police have no suspects.

“No success yet,” says Watterston in answering that question. “The investigators were looking to pull the CCTV footage that was in the area.  There’s a number of businesses that have that.  So that’s what they’re working with.”
