Grizzly bear poaching concerns continue

Bear advocates in the province are once again asking the government to do something about grizzly bear poaching.
Thirty one bears died in Alberta last year, and 11 of those were due to poaching.
The government says that number doesn’t mean there is more poaching, it may just mean there are more people reporting the practice.
It’s illegal to hunt grizzly bears in Alberta, as the government wants the stock to recover, but advocacy groups say there aren’t enough resources put into the recovery plan to ensure it works.
