Sochi buzz to benefit Calgary facility

Olympic fever doesn’t just mean sitting in front of your TV to cheer on the athletes.

More Calgarians are expected to try out winter sports at Canada Olympic Park in 2014, according to Director of Communications, Dale Oviatt.

“Last year was a little different because of our lift situation, but certainly we’ve seen a pick-up this year,” said Oviatt.

“Is it because of the Olympics? Well, we’ll be able to tell a little more after these games, if people see some of the ski events and decide to come out and try skiing or snowboarding if they’ve never done it before.”

Oviatt also expects Calgarians’ interest in bobsleigh and luge to really grow during and after the winter games.
