The premier says she needs to see the federal budget before she tries to comment on it.
At an event Monday, Alison Redford was asked how she felt about Ottawa trying to push or download part of the deficit onto the provinces.
“We certainly know they’ve put an emphasis on infrastructure as we have here in Alberta,” Redford said. “We think it’s important for the future growth of our province and our country and from our perspective, we have a strict fiscal framework where we’re making responsible descisions. We have confidence that the federal government will do the same thing.”
She said they’ll continue to work with other provinces to foster further growth.
Redford added, she’s hoping to see more emphasis from the federal government on enhanced immigration and policies to attract skilled workers.
