Number of Alberta flu cases shrinking

The number of new influenza cases in Alberta is tapering off.

The province reports the total number of confirmed flu cases this season is now 2900, up by only about 100 from last week.

The total number of people who have died rose to 20 from 19; more than half of those deaths have been in the Calgary region.

Across Canada, flu activity is decreasing, with the highest concentrations now in the eastern provinces.
