Racers, muscle cars and custom vehicles have taken over the BMO Centre, this weekend, for the 48th annual World of Wheels.
Show spokesman Shelley Ostrove told 660News, vehicle owners from across the prairies as well as the United States will have their pride and enjoy on display, Saturday and Sunday.
“Some of these people put in probably a whole year before the cars are ready,” said Ostrove. “These people start working on these cars after the car show because they want to make it better. As far as costs, I’ll bet you the average cost of the cars is well over $100,000.”
So which vehicles do people tend to gravitate to at the shows?
“I think the muscle cars are probably the most exciting” (for) “people,” Ostrove continued. “They see … these big motors in them with the 500 horsepower motors in them. We always suggest that everybody bring cameras. That’s the trick because the owners are all there and” (fans can have) “their pictures taken with the owners. It’s a lot of fun.”
It’s not just vehicles on display either.
“We’ve got” (WWE wrestler) “Chris Jericho on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Danielle Colby Cushman,” Ostrove added. “She’s the lady from American Pickers. She’s there on Sunday from 12 to 5. Another thing we’ve got: FMX Motor Stunt Show all weekend long in the Corral.”
The World of Wheels runs Saturday from 10 a.m. till 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
