Hayley Wickenheiser doesn’t think she’ll be leaving the ice anytime soon.
The gold medal winner was greeted by adoring crowds Tuesday night at YYC as she and her teammates came back home from Sochi.
After four trips to the top of the olympic podium, Wickenheiser said, she isn’t ready to retire from the women’s hockey team, and has quite a few years left.
“You know, right now, I think I could go another four, but I just want to take some time and make sure that I’ve got everything set up the way that I need it to be. I’m up to play. I still feel like I’ve got lots left, but right now I think I need a holiday,” she laughed.
Wickenheiser said the ladies of Team Canada weren’t satisfied to come home with a silver this time around, and didn’t give up until they claimed victory.
