Pothole repair set for April

It may continue to be a bumpy ride for commuters for a few more weeks.
The City of Calgary’s pothole maintenance won’t start until next month.
Carissa Vescio, a roads spokesperson, said despite this weekend’s warm weather, it’s still too soon to begin repairs.
“The pavement is not necessarily going to be dry, because of the freeze thaw cycle,” said Vescio.
“Likely there won’t be any snow, at least on any of the major thoroughfares, but it will still be wet.”
Vescio said city crews repair about 30,000 to 40,000 potholes every year.
Pothole inspection happens twice a month on major Calgary roadways, while crews check out collector roads once a month and residential roads are monitored by citizen reports.
