More murals grace Calgary Tower

The inside of the Calgary Tower is the tallest art gallery in the west!

A mural painting exhibition took place Saturday as part of an annual art competition celebrating Earth Day, put on by the Alberta Wilderness Association.

Christyann Olson with the event says the murals, painted on the stairwells by all ages and abilities, showcase Alberta’s wild creatures and landscapes.

“The Calgary Tower is very proud of the gallery.  There’s more than 150 murals already.   It is a magnificent gallery,” says Olson.

The mural painting helps highlight the 23rd annual Climb and Run for Wilderness fundraiser planned for late April.
