Exercise decreases risk of breast cancer: study

Being slim may not be enough to prevent breast cancer.

A new study finds, it’s exercise that is crucial, whatever your weight.

Researchers in Sweden asked some 1900 women about their health habits and checked in again 13 years later.

They found, those who did the least exercise were 40 per cent more likely to have developed breast cancer than those who did the most.

The researchers say even ordinary, everyday activities such as carrying home groceries or playing with the kids can make a difference, and that it’s never too late to become more active.

Their findings were presented to the International Congress on Obesity.
