Danielle Smith hosts party fundraiser

Alberta’s opposition leader has already begun to energize the party faithful in the wake of ongoing turmoil from within the PC party.
At a Wildrose fundraiser Thursday night, Danielle Smith touched on several issues – and it didn’t take long though for Smith to address the elephant in the room …… the resignation of Alison Redford.
Plainly spoken, Smith and her speech didn’t mince words about the premier.
They’ve never been close, they’ve disagreed on a lot, but when it came to the subject of Redford, however, she had nothing but praise.
“And, I genuinely believe, that whatever our differences, she was governing in what she thought was truely the best interest of Albertans”, she said.
While she didn’t address the media questions of Keystone, education, seniors and health care came up in her public Q & A; the goal of the night to get ready for an election and a new premier.
“Our prediction, is that they’re going to choose a new leader, and we’ll be looking at an election probably february/march of next year. so we’re getting ready, it’s going to mean that going to have to excelerate our candidate selection,” according to Smith.
The one thousand seat fundraiser was a sellout at $400 a plate.
