Calgary Baby Show takes over BMO Centre this weekend

There will be plenty of excitement this weekend at the BMO Centre as expectant parents descend on the Stampede grounds for the Calgary Baby Show.

Organizer Cindy Marks tells 660News, the show has a lot more than retailers on hand.  There are also informative  seminars.

“We’ve got Discipline That Builds Brains,” says Marks of the numerous seminars on the schedule this weekend. “We’ve got cold and allergies in young children.  We’ve got a naturopathic doctor speaking on that.  We’ve got Chaos to Calm, so planning for a new family and how you can make that transition.  What stroller to buy, what to look for. How to Grow An Engineer” (which is about) “starting your child with math.”

“We have over a hundred exhibitors and we’ve got everything from clothing, to strollers, to financial planning,” Marks says of the retailers who will be on hand.  “We’ve got jewelry.  We’ve got make-up for the moms.  We’ve got clothing.  Photographers, of course you’re wanting to capture all those special moments in a child’s life.”

The kids haven’t been forgotten either, especially when mom and dad might be trying to take in one of those interesting talks by a guest speaker.

“We’ve got lots of entertainment,” notes Marks. “My Little Pony and Playdough’s Dodo are our main entertainment.  We’ve got Butterfield Acres with a farm corral.  Gymboree.  We’ve got Playdo Activation Centre where kids can come in and play with Playdough.  Harmony Music School is offering music classes.”

The Calgary Baby Show runs from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and again Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the BMO Centre.
