Police think bank robberies might be related

Calgary police are hoping to hear from witnesses or anyone who may know something about a pair of bank robberies on the city’s east side Monday.
The first happened around 10 a.m. at the Bank of Montreal in the 2500 block of 32nd Street N.E.
The suspect is described as having a darker skin tone, 35 to 45 years old, 5’8 to 5’10 tall, approximately 150 lbs. to 170 lbs., with a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark baseball cap, dark pants and sunglasses.
The second robbery happened about an hour later, around 11 a.m., at a TD Canada Trust in the 3000 block of 17th Avenue S.E.
The suspect is a man described as 20 to 30 years old and 5’10 to 6’1 tall. He was wearing a black toque, a green puffy jacket, a scarf, blue jeans, work boots and sunglasses.
The CPS Robbery Unit is investigating whether the two are related.
