Sundre men charged with arson following Longview fires

Fireworks lit from a vehicle have landed two men from Sundre in some very hot water.

Around noon Thursday, Turner Valley RCMP and the M.D. of Foothills Fire Departments battled five grass fires on the west side of Highway 22, south of Longview and it’s believed they were all caused by fireworks.

It took crews about four hours to get the blazes under control.

21-year-old Dale Christopher Aldrich and 24-year-old Marc Pierre Boulanger have been charged with four counts of arson.

There were no injuries and no homes, farms or livestock were in danger.
