Firefighters are battling a huge house fire in the community of New Brighton, in the deep southeast.

660News listener Murray called into the 660 newsroom just after 1:30 p.m., to say that several homes were up in flames.

“One house is fully engulfed, and we could see other houses on fire as well.  Police and fire trucks are on scene already,” he said.

It’s unclear if anyone has been hurt.

Calgary police are also in the area helping the fire department control traffic.

660’s Kayla Butler is headed to the scene.
