Canada’s ‘King of Pot’ sentenced for selling 109,000 Kilos

His life has been called a movie script waiting to happen, and now Laval, Quebec’s so-called “pot playboy” has been sentenced to jail in the U.S. for 27 years.

Jimmy Cournoyer was found guilty Wednesday in a two-year-old case where he sold 109,000 kilograms of Canadian grown marijuana in the New York area.

According to the National Post, the 34-year old will have to serve at least one-third of his sentence stateside before he can apply for transfer back into Canada.

Known as the “King of Pot”, Cournoyer was said to be living a lavish lifestyle in upstate New York while operating as a drug smuggler.
