City Councillor Brian Pincott says secondary suites need to be legal across the city.
Pincott says the arguments against secondary suites are weak and this should be a choice homeowners can make themselves.
He tells CityNews, he’s fed up with the slow trickle of suites being approved by council one at a time.
“This is ridiculous that we are forcing Calgarians to go through this process and then have a crap shoot at city council as to whether they get it or not,” he said.
He says secondary suites would support the vibrancy of neighbourhoods by providing extra income to first time homebuyers and seniors who want to stay in their home longer.
