Bowness community holding crime open house

In response to a recent shooting and a spike in break and enters, the northwest community of Bowness is hosting a safety open house Wednesday night.

Councillor Ward Sutherland explains the goal is to develop a strategy to combat crime.

“It has to do with building a relationship with the police department within the community itself, and getting better communication and broad-based education of how we can make our neighbourhood safe,” he said.

The Bowness Safety Open House in the Bowness Community Centre is open to all residents, and runs from 7-9 p.m.
