Creative Stitches & Crafting Alive Show at Spruce Meadows

A big event is taking place in Calgary this weekend for crafting, quilting and sewing fans.
You can find everything you need from the latest in sewing machines, to the coolest new crafts, to putting the ‘bling’ back in old and boring clothing.
The Creative Stitches and Crafting Alive Show kicks off Saturday morning in the Equiplex at Spruce Meadows.
Show Director Nori Ritchens tells 660News, sewing machines these days are pretty high-tech.
“For example, there is one company that features a machine that integrates with your iPad. You can program it to embroider your favourite pictures and do all the edits from your iPad. It’s unbelievable what you can do with a sewing machine. We’re not just talking your basic stitches anymore,” says Ritchens.
The show runs from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and then again from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
