Greek Orthodox Bazaar raises cash for local charities

An annual fundraiser for local charities is back this weekend.

The Greek Orthodox Ladies of Philoptochos society is hosting its 51st Annual Bazaar Friday and Saturday.

The event raises funds for a variety of organizations including The Mustard Seed, Calgary Women’s Shelter, Kids Cancer Society, World Vision Canada, Inn from the Cold, and more.

Visitors can get a taste of Greek culture and food; admission is $2, and comes with coffee and a pastry.

There will also be some family-friendly entertainment.

The Bazaar is at the St. Demetrios Hellenic Orthodox Community Hall from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday.
