Twelve charged in $5M drug seizure

A dozen people have been arrested, following a yearlong investigation into an organized crime group in Calgary.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team executed seven search warrants in the city on February 4, and seized $5-million worth of drugs including: 40 kilograms of cocaine, 11,597 fentanyl pills, 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 545 grams of heroin, 182 grams of MDMA, 450 grams of marijuana and 60 kilograms of Phenacetin.
Police say it’s the largest ever seizure of cocaine and fentanyl.
ALERT believes the drugs were being sold around the province.
Investigators also confiscated a Glock handgun that was reported stolen, a TEC-9 handgun, $600,000 in cash, and five luxury vehicles.
Twelve people are charged with a total of 66 offences including conspiracy and organized crime:

– Todd Randall Chapman, 31, from Smithers, B.C.
– Duy-Tam Benny Phan, 20, from Calgary
– Tam Thanh Bryan Phan, 19, from Calgary
– Dennis Galen Ross, 27, from Smithers, B.C.
– Khoa That Ton, 29, from Calgary
– Tommy That Ton, 19, from Calgary
– Nguyen Duong Yen Phung Tran, 19, from Calgary
– Donna Thanh Phoung Tran, 33, from Calgary
– Thanh Hoang Tony Truong, 34, from Calgary
– Ronald Gene Wan Wong, 35, from Calgary
