Town councillor opposes Danielle Smith for PC nomination

Danielle Smith is being given a run for her money in her own riding.

The Calgary Herald reports, Okotoks Town Councillor Carrie Fischer will be running against Smith for the Highwood nomination for the Progessive Conservatives.

After defecting to the PC’s, Smith received backlash for not consulting her constituents on the decision.

After making the announcement, Fischer says she’s excited to run and when it comes to going up against Smith she says ‘It all comes down to what residents want’.
