Cancer patients living longer

More people with cancer are living longer.

The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention says two out of every three Americans diagnosed with invasive cancer between 2003 and 2010 survived for five years or longer.

The researchers say it may be due to improved treatments and early detection.

The data could be powerful in assisting researchers in creating new therapies and physicians in screening certain populations.
