Samaritans Purse helping Cyclone Pam victims

The South Pacific nation of Vanuatu is receiving some much needed help after being levelled by a category 5 cyclone.

Cyclone Pam destroyed many homes, schools and hospitals in the area this past weekend.

Laurent Trabadello with Samaritans Purse said they’ve got boots on the ground to help out those who’ve been affected.

“So right now the priorities are medical assistance, shelter and wash, so water and hygiene and also looking at food as we’ve realized that’s going to be a huge need as well,’ Trabadello said.

He said the support of Calgarians is always appreciated.
